Oxytetracycline is effective in the treatment of:
Navel/joint ill caused by corynebacterium pyogenes, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus;
Mastitis caused by Corynebacterium pyogenes, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, and Streptococcus uberis, mastitis agalactia syndrome (MMA).
Metritis caused by E. coli and streptococcus pyogenes;
Pasteurellosis and infections of the respiratory tract caused by Pasteurella hemolytic, and Pasteurella multocida;
Septicemia caused by Salmonella Dublin and Streptococcus pyogenes;
Erysipelas caused by Erysepelothrix rhusiopathiae;
Enzootic abortion in sheep
Anaplasmosis
Foot rat
Bacterial enteritis
Polyarthritis
Leptospirosis
Listeriosis
Keratoconjunctivitis
Pneumonia
Dosage and administration:
The recommended dosage is 20 mg/kg of body weight or 1ml/10 kg of body weight by deep intramuscular injection. Maximum recommended dosage at any one site is:
Cattle: 20ml
Sheep and goat: 5ml
Blood levels persist at the list for 72 hours. After administration by the intramuscular rout maximum blood levels are achieving after 4 to 8 hours.
