Composition

• Closantel (as base): 50 mg/ml (5%)

• Vehicle/adjuvants q.s. to 1 ml

• Presentation: 50 ml vial

Indications

For treatment and control of:

• Liver flukes: Fasciola hepatica, F. gigantica

• Gastrointestinal nematodes (blood-feeding): Haemonchus spp., Bunostomum phlebotomum, Oesophagostomum spp., Chabertia ovina

• Warble fly larvae (cattle): Hypoderma bovis, H. lineatum

• Nasal bot (sheep/goats): Oestrus ovis

• May also aid control of Paramphistomum spp. where label-approved

• Precautions and Warnings

  • Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to closantel.

  • Use accurate body weights to avoid under- or overdosing.

  • Overdose may cause inappetence, incoordination, vision disturbances, or weakness—seek veterinary advice immediately.

  • Do not mix with other veterinary medicinal products in the same syringe.

  • Observe local regulations regarding use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption.

  • Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

Usage (Dosage & Administration)

• Route: Subcutaneous injection.

• Standard dose (flukes, blood-feeding nematodes, Hypoderma/nasal bot): 5 mg/kg body weight = 1 ml per 10 kg.

• Some label programs use 2.5 mg/kg (1 ml/20 kg) for certain nematode/bot indications—follow veterinary direction.

• Injection site volume limits (good practice): up to 20 ml per site in cattle, 5 ml per site in sheep/goats; split larger volumes across multiple sites.

• Use clean technique; do not reuse needles; rotate sites.
