PenStrep 400 Injection

Composition:
Each ml contains:

• Procaine penicillin G … 200 mg

• Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate … 200 mg

Indications:
PenStrep 400 is effective against infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to penicillin or dihydrostreptomycin, including:

• Respiratory, uterine, and alimentary infections

• Metritis, mastitis, osteomyelitis, peritonitis

• Septicaemia, cystitis, joint-ill

• Secondary bacterial infections in cattle, horses, pigs, foals, calves, sheep, and goats

• Precautions and Warnings:

  • Do not use in animals hypersensitive to penicillin, aminoglycosides, or procaine

  • Avoid in animals with impaired renal function or vestibular/auditory disorders

  • Not suitable for small herbivores (e.g., rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs)

  • Avoid prolonged use in pregnant animals due to fetal toxicity risk

  • Incompatible with fast-acting bacteriostatic antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, lincomycin)

  • Do not combine with anesthetics or neuromuscular blocking agents (risk of respiratory depression)

Usage / Dosage:

• Shake well before use.

• Administer intramuscularly.

• General dose: 1 ml per 25 kg body weight daily for 3–4 days

• In severe cases, the dose may be doubled
