Ciproflix® is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It’s effective in the treatment of gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tract infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, mycoplasma, and chlamydia. It is mainly used in livestock and poultry bacteria and mycoplasma infections. Poultry with diseases show as gloomy spirit, fluey feather, lowered food taking bronchitis, pneumonia, difficult breath, diarrhea, dysentery, eyelid inflammation, Ciprofloxacin has wide range activity on gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms such as following;
Aerobic gram-positive microorganism:
- Enterococcus feacalis (many strains)
- Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-susceptible strains)
- Staphylococcus saprophytic
- Staphylococcus pneumonia (penicillin-susceptible strains)
Aerobic gram-negative organisms:
- Campylobacter jejuni
- Citrobacter diversus
- Enterobacter cloacae
- Escherichia coli
- Haemophilus influenza
- Klebasiella pneumonia
- Moraxella catarrhalis
- Moranella morganii
- Naisseriagonorrhoeae
- Proteus mirabilis
- Proteus Vulgaris
- Providencia stuartii
- Pseudomonas aeruginous
- Salmonella Typhi
- Serrate marcescens

Dosage:
Calves, Goats, and Sheep: Twice daily, 7 – 10 mg /kg of body weight for 3-5 days.
Note: For pre-ruminant calve, lambs and kids only
Poultry: 0.75-1.25g in 1-liter drinking water twice every day for 3-5 days.
Adverse effect:
Main adverse effects include:
- Cartilage deformation of young animals to cause limp and pain
- Vomit, stomachache, and abdominal distension in digestive system reaction.
- Erythema, pruritus, urticarial, and photosensitivity reaction in cutaneous reaction.
Withdrawl period: 28 days
